Post by Flex »

FYI:

There are four people regularly playing now, with a 5th usually joining on the weekends. Come on by and relive the Path of Ascension awesomeness in style!

Palace run being planned for tomorrow evening. Don't miss out!

Hi Henke,

Spotted the problem. You're using a CD key that you haven't used before? To stop people hijacking other people's account I have a system that keeps track of which CD keys are being used by which accounts and will block logins if it doesn't recognize the key. It is supposed to learn new keys, and associate them with an account, by seeing if a new key is being used from an IP address that was recently used by the account involved. Where it would run into problems is if you have multiple accounts (multiple login names), use a new CD key, and don't login to one of them whilst you still have the same IP address. I put this system in place a few years ago when the central authentication servers went down. It was either that or add individual passwords at login which would have complicated things for players. It seems to have worked up until now but something clearly went wrong in your case. I'll try and track down what happened, but it should be sorted out now.

If anyone else has been bitten by what they think could be this problem, please let me know.

Have you seen there's going to be a remaster of NWN where all our original files will be compatible? I have it on my Steam watchlist. -"D"
