I recently found my old NWN CDs and reinstalled the game. I had a blast going through the single player stories again and then remembered that you could play on line. It looks like a lot of things no longer work but Google helped me find a few online servers. I used to play on a server which I think ran the same story as this one. That must have been over ten years ago. I had a lot of fun but never got to a high enough level character to go to the places that the max level people talked about. There don't seem to be many people around any more so I'm wondering if I can do things on my own and what sort of character would be best for that. I've started playing a sorcerer and was wondering it that would be any good?

Well I've played for about 3 weeks now and have only seen another person on for a few minutes so I think you have to do everything by yourself now. I could do with some advice on what to do next. I figured out that I have to get through one of the caves in the Swamp of Decay to reach the next area and to be able to find some sort of staff that I need. The problem is that I keep getting killed by by magic sword things before I can do them any damage. I'm now trying to level a cleric to see if that works any better than my sorcerer. Can you get past the swords on your own or do you need a party? Are these the same swords that guard the treasure in the bugbear cave? I died there too. A lot.

That would be great. I have a level 12 sorcerer and a level 8 cleric now if either of those would work.

Updated to say that I've got my cleric to level 9 and worked out there is a difference between daggers and scimitars and how to kill them. I managed to get through the Dread Caverns and reach the other side. It was a very close thing though

Now I just have to figure out where to find this staff thing.

Dagges can be killed with migic missile and for scims i would recomend icestorm. Remember to bring a teleport gem or you will have a fun time getting out of forgotten forest

Thanks for the tips. I'll need to change my spells on level up for my sorcerer. I worked out I could kill the daggers with call lightning and the scimitars with hammer of the gods. After wasting hours in the forest I started drawing maps but still need another piece of the staff I think. Getting there though, but will need to figure out what to do and where to go after that. Do you know if you can do the whole story on your own or does it need other people?

I've made a bit of progress and got my sorcerer up to level 15 but I'm now a bit stuck and have a few more questions. I've not seen anyone on the server over the last week so thought I'd try ask here.

1) To get into the temple of Anduin do you need to collect and break the staff every time? It's getting to be a real pain hunting through the forest to make another staff for each visit.

2) How do you deal with being silenced? I've taken silent spell as a feat now which helps, but the only thing that seems to clear it is resting or dying. I'm getting really good at dying in that place and then it's back to the forest for another staff...

3) How do you deal with everything casting dispel magic on you all the time?

4) There is a door at the back of the temple that I can't open but that seems to be the only area I haven't managed to explore in between my frequent deaths and trips to the forest. I can't find a key for it anywhere so probably need a hint.

Hey! I used to play 24/7 years ago and am still pretty familiar with the server even ran a server of my own around 2003-2004-2005 but was never super good at scripting so I gave it up after several complaints and a lack of know how. Anyways id love to have a few dedicated players who would be willing to set up a time frame maybe once or twice a week to conquer POA once again! I currently have a lvl 3 but am going to start over as I chose scythe as my main wep and wont be able to get my hands on the Acid +5 scythe with out a good crew. So ill just say ill try to log on every fri/sat through out the day and for sure from noon on Fridays unless of course life happens Please reach out! I really miss the classic poa lvl 20. We just need four dedicated players to have a really really!!! good time. Ill start a tank the classic 10 fgt 7 wm 3 rog. Ill check back often. BTW I'm logging on right now!

Hi Renzokukin. I just replied to your other thread. Looks like we missed each other, sorry. I'm back again now.

Weekly update is that I'm still at level 15 on my sorcerer. I figured out how to get past the door into the catacombs and discovered yet another wonderful place to die horribly. I've been mapping out areas leading off them as best I can but think I'm a bit low level for the areas I'm seeing. I kind of take a few steps into those places and then do my die, respawn thing. Then I get to look at my logs to see what killed me

This next week I'm going to try and explore other areas outside the temple and try and get another level or two to see if that helps. If anyone else is interested in playing I'd love to level another character and try and show them what I've learned so far.
