Thanks for the update and it's nice to see we're getting a few more people. That's pretty much down to the help you guys are giving to the new arrivals so I can't claim any credit there.

I'm still stuck in the middle of nowhere without a good enough connection to get into game but should be able to dive in and sort out any problems if necessary.

The server vault is being backed up and I've no need to remove any characters from it. If I ever have to then I'll give lots of notice and you'll still be able to recover characters from backups on request. So your characters will still be around when you get chance to play.

Hello and thanks for running poa 1-20. I recently built my first 20 for the server, and found my old NWN files that i had saved on a flashdrive before I reinstalled NWN. Sadly, whenever I copied my old NWN folder over the new one and I somhow lost all of my toons from the server vault somhow. if this is a client side issue I'll start over over... but I don't see how altering my NWN folder would effect my folder in the server vault.

Hello and welcome.

I'm not quite sure on the details of what you're describing regarding problems with the server vault. Are you saying that you got a character to level 20 on the server, made a change at your end and found the characters gone from the server. That just shouldn't happen. The only thing I can think of that would cause that kind of thing to appear to happen is if you've changed your player name? Can you tell me the names of the character(s) involved. I backup the server vault so should be able to recover them for you if necessary.

I've recently had some help from Weeman007 with testing some ongoing fixes to the rest spawn system for which I'd like to thank them here. During those tests they used up a lot of supplies in the form of heal and shadow potions and so as not to put their character out of pocket I compensated them for the cost of those supplies and a bit extra for the time spent helping me rather than being out earning loot. So, when I wrote earlier:

• Any gold and gear that appears will have been earned the hard way and not magicked into existence through a DM client

I had forgotten to cover for things like this, but the general principle remains in force and I'm serious about it. I've seen too many new PWs being spoiled by well intended gifts of gold and gear from DMs that devalue earning these things the proper way and I'm not going to fall into that trap here.

Thanks for running an oldschool PoA server. :3
I used to play on the old AW server, and loved the mod. Tried a few other PoA servers, but most of them were morphed into something that no longer resembled PoA.
Glad to see people other than myself who still prefer the original mod.

I think there are a bunch of us old timers that feel there is still plenty of life in the old mod yet. Newer versions like Higher Ground are amazing pieces of work and well worth visiting if you haven't already, but sometimes it's nice to see what you can do with just 20 levels to play with.
