Would a builds descussion be a good idea for the forum?
just wondering kuz i may take some of the flavor out of it.
Builds?
Re: Builds?
If people want to discuss builds here then go for it. I could even create a sub forum just for that purpose if that would be useful?
Re: Builds?
so i asked party today n it sounds like wo dont need one yet but in the future it may be usefull.
Re: Builds?
There are a few basic builds popular for this server if anyone would like to know.
10 Fighter, 3 Rogue, 7 Weapon Master. You want to be sure to take 10 charisma, maximize strength, and be sure to get skill focus use magic device and max that too, spec in Greatswords and get a Blade of Justice.
20 Sorcerer. A solid build and the ability to use the Arcane Sheath. Gotta ask for a lot of specifics on spells though.
19 Cleric, 1 Paladin. A good build that lets to take the advantage of the great spells of a Cleric and the armor you need to survive.
20 Rogue...because we need YOU to unlock and untrap stuff. =)

Re: Builds?
Here are some ideas for the builds you listed:
Weapon Master
I see a lot of popularity in taking Bard Levels rather than Rogue levels, the reason for doing so being the Bard Song. As I understand it, while Bard Song is active the AI sees the song and assumes any buffs you are carrying are given by the Bard Song and won't try to dispel you (because Bard Song can't be dispelled). This is particularly useful in the Arcane Academy, Palace, Abyss, and when soloing. You still gain the UMD as you would with a rogue level, and you also gain access to the Taunt skill. Taunting allows you to lower an opponents AC even further, up to a maximum of 6 I believe. The only thing you miss out on by not taking a Rogue level or levels is the sneak attack. The sneak attack does not get multiplied in critical hits, so the additional 1d6 or 2d6 damage is negligible, especially since you will often be the only tank in your party with the small server population. If you are going non-human (or if you like feats) you may also prefer 12 fighter instead of 10 for the extra feat.
Cleric
For the Cleric, I would vote for Bard over Paladin for much the same reasons as above. Access to Bard Song and UMD for more equipment/item choices (like the Cleric's best friend Flute of Undoing). Use Magic Device also gives you access to many of the monk items, such as the amulet that gives both True Seeing and a big wisdom boost. If you want to use Holy Avenger, you can equip one of the star rings/amulets to boost your UMD by 10, equip the item to gain Holy Avenger benefit, and then unequip the ring/amulet for the item of your choice while still retaining the benefit of Holy Avenger. Holy Avenger qualifying skill check for UMD is only done at time of equip or login.
Rogue
I would advise against going 20 Rogue. I would recommend going either 16 Rogue / 4 Fighter or 15 Rogue / 4 Fighter / 1 Assassin. Due to the nature of sneak attack increase (+1d6 every odd level), taking an Assassin level would mean an additional 1d6 on sneaks over the 16 Rogue. The reason for the Fighter levels is to increase your BAB, meaning both a higher attack bonus and 4 attacks per round. You also get free weapon and armor feats from the Fighter levels. The bonus feats from the fighter levels are sure nice, too. I know you know this, but for anyone stumbling across this later remember to not dip below 15 rogue (Palace Door requirement is 15).
Thanks for the build post, I hope you find my ideas helpful. If I think of anything else I'll add it in. Look forward to seeing you on the server.

Re: Builds?
My two cents on the Cleric:
19/1 Cleric/Pally
I have never personally tried this one because I haven't seen the need. Spiked armor gives the imp evasion that pally plate does while also taking care of your haste problem, so you can more easily fit anc boots. Also, a cleric with BoJ has never really seemed appealing because I rely on Siege shield to survive my dance with wm's.
19/1 Cleric/Bard
The build is pretty solid. The song helps in certain situations, but there are a couple place where I find it to be more troublesome than helpful, such as palace (if you sing before entering queen room it messes up the timing of their TS and tends to throw me off). Flutes are awesome, especially in palace and abyss when you want to be a little more self-sufficient, but with this build your best weapon choice is most likely the sickle, which I find to be a little repulsive. Overall, while the bard brings some cool stuff to the table, it's just not enough to make me use it.
18/2 Cleric/Fighter
Solid build. Two fighter feats on top of all your spell feats means you can have everything plus wep focus and imp crit. You also get a larger weapon pool. the down side is a slight lack of spells.
19/1 Cleric/Fighter
My personal favorite. You have a few additional spell slots over the 18/2 while still being able to use ginsa/magnificent prismatic blade. For your fighter feat I strongly suggest imp crit longsword. I find it to be much more helpful than +1ab. As far as gear goes, optimally you will want anc boots, bracers and helm, along with black spiked armor, atlas, 2 guru rings, grtr wholeness ammy, cloak of perfection, and siege shield. Have arch priest ammy, anc belt, and anc shield in inv to swap to when needed. A decent store-bought build can be made with the ring from D and the belt from G.

Re: Builds?
Figured I'd throw this in.
Palace Tank 14/5/1 Fighter/Wm/Ranger
Probably not the most ideal, but my favorite by far. I run the build with Heavy Metal. The WM levels bump your crit up to put a hurtin on arcane golems. The ranger level lets you rock ranger helm with signet. The down side is no imp evasion, but that's what heals are for , right?
